Daily River And Lake Summary
National Weather Service Columbia Sc
1216 PM EDT Fri Aug 18 2017

...All River Forecast Points remain below Flood Stage...

A surface trough of low pressure will remain in the forecast
area through this evening, then a weak cold front will drop into
the area Saturday and drift toward the coast. As a result,
atmospheric moisture will remain high this afternoon but decrease
somewhat Saturday through Sunday.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are most likely this afternoon
and early evening across Piedmont counties in the western and
northern portion of the area, then will favor eastern and southern
counties over the weekend.

At this time, rainfall during the period is not expected to be
significant enough to produce any main stem river flooding.
Therefore, generally minor river rises or fluctuations are expected
across area river basins through Sunday, and will be governed mainly
by water releases due to power generation from upstream reservoirs.
