Regional Weather Summary for Western Kansas

Some high level clouds moved northeast across parts of western
Kansas during the overnight hours. Skies were sunny this morning.
Low temperatures were in the upper 60s to lower 70s, except for
lower 60s in the northwest corner.

As an upper level low moves east across Canada, a surface trough
will continue to strengthen in the lee of the Rockies. A cold
front is expected to move into the Central Plains later this
afternoon and tonight, and by sunrise Wednesday should extend
from east central Colorado and west central Kansas into central
Nebraska. Warm temperatures can be expected this afternoon across
western Kansas with cooler readings elsewhere. There will be a
chance for thunderstorms later this afternoon and evening mainly
from central and eastern Kansas into the Southern Plains. The best
area for severe storms will be in northeastern Kansas.

High temperatures this afternoon will range from the upper 80s to
mid 90s. Lows tonight will range from the lower 50s in the
Nebraska Panhandle to the mid 70s from southeastern Kansas to
north central Oklahoma.
