...This Week`s NOAA Weather Radio Test Will Be At 10am March 1st...

The National Weather Service in Tulsa will be conducting our weekly
test of the NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) systems across eastern Oklahoma
and northwestern Arkansas at 10 am Wednesday. The normal test time
is on Wednesdays between 11 am and noon. We are going to send the
Routine Weekly Test message and associated 1050 hz tones of the NWR
systems early this week, in support of a statewide tornado drill that
is being conducted in Arkansas for Severe Weather Awareness Week. If
there is threatening weather on March 1st, the test will be
postponed until Thursday at 10 am.

This would be a good opportunity for everyone to test their severe
weather preparedness plans. When you hear your NWR activate for the
weekly test at 10 am, you can conduct a drill and practice your
severe weather action plan. It is a good idea to test your plans
prior to severe weather season, so everyone you`re responsible for at
home, work, or at school knows what to do when severe weather

Contact your local National Weather Service Office or local chapter
of the American Red Cross for information about developing a plan if
you don`t already have one or if you wish to make improvements to
your plan.
