...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT CATAWBA...WESTERN DAVIE...
ALEXANDER...IREDELL...SOUTHEASTERN CALDWELL...WESTERN ROWAN AND
SOUTHEASTERN BURKE COUNTIES THROUGH 200 AM EDT...

At 117 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 12 miles southwest of Yadkinville to near
Newton to 9 miles northwest of Lincolnton. Movement was southeast at
40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Hickory, Statesville, Newton, Mocksville, Taylorsville, Mooresville,
St. Stephens, Conover, Longview, and Bethlehem.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
