Regional Weather Summary for Western Kansas

Across western Kansas today the skies were partly to mostly sunny
and the winds were southerly at 10 to 15 mph. Highs today ranged
from the upper 70s in central Kansas to near 85 across the
panhandle of Oklahoma and in extreme southwest Kansas.

A trough of low pressure at the surface will develop overnight
along the lee of the Rockies as an upper level ridge axis moves
east across the West Central High Plains. On Friday the trough of
low pressure at the surface will remain nearly stationary and
deepen during the day. An upper level low will exit the southeast
Pacific late tonight and move east across southern California and
far western Arizona during the day on Friday.

Skies will be mostly clear overnight and the lows across western
Kansas will fall back into the upper 40s to near 55 degrees.
Friday will be mostly sunny and breezy. Highs will range from the
mid to upper 80s.
