Regional Weather Summary for Western Kansas

Thunderstorms moved southeast across western Kansas during the
overnight hours. Rainfall amounts varied quite a bit from only a
few hundredths of an inch in the Dodge City and Garden City areas
to around two inches between Greensburg and Medicine Lodge. There
were some rain showers at mid morning in parts of western central
and southwest Kansas. Low temperatures were mainly in the low to
mid 60s.

Upper level high pressure will remain over the southwest part of
the country through tonight. Surface high pressure will be located
in the Central Plains this afternoon. The surface high is
expected to weaken tonight as a surface trough sets up in the lee
of the Rockies. Temperatures will be mild this afternoon across
most of the region. There will be a chance for thunderstorms
through tonight in the Central Plains.

High temperatures this afternoon will be in the low to mid 80s
from Nebraska to Kansas with low to mid 90s in parts of the
Southern High Plains. Lows tonight will range from the lower 60s
in the Central High Plains to the lower 70s in central Oklahoma.
