TEMPERATURES WERE BELOW NORMAL TODAY ACROSS WESTERN KANSAS AS
HIGHS WERE ONLY IN THE 20S.  BRISK NORTH WINDS KEEP WIND CHILL
READINGS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS TO LOWER TEENS FOR MOST OF THE DAY.
THERE WAS SOME SUNSHINE THIS MORNING BEFORE SOME MID LEVEL CLOUDS
MOVED INTO THE AREA.

STRONG COLD HIGH PRESSURE CENTERED OVER THE NORTHERN PLAINS WAS
RIDGING INTO THE CENTRAL PLAINS THIS EVENING.  THE HIGH WILL MOVE
INTO THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY REGION BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON.  A
WEAK UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO FAR
SOUTHWESTERN KANSAS AND THE SOUTHERN HIGH PLAINS TONIGHT.  WELL
BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE CENTRAL PLAINS
THROUGH AT LEAST FRIDAY.  LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO EXPAND FROM
EASTERN COLORADO TO THE TEXAS PANHANDLE TONIGHT AND CONTINUE INTO
FRIDAY WITH MOST OF THE ACCUMULATION EXPECTED LATER TONIGHT AND
FRIDAY MORNING.  THE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD INTO WESTERN
OKLAHOMA DURING THE DAY FRIDAY.  WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES WERE IN
EFFECT FROM EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN COLORADO AND PARTS OF SOUTHWESTERN
KANSAS TO THE TEXAS PANHANDLE AND WESTERN OKLAHOMA.  ANYWHERE FROM 2
TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW MAY FALL IN THIS AREA BY THE END OF THE DAY
FRIDAY.

LOW TEMPERATURES TONIGHT WILL RANGE FROM 5 BELOW TO 10 BELOW IN
NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA TO AROUND 15 ABOVE IN CENTRAL OKLAHOMA.
HIGHS FRIDAY WILL BE MAINLY IN THE LOWER 20S EXCEPT FOR SOME TEENS
IN THE FAR WEST INTO THE TEXAS PANHANDLE.
