...WINTER-LIKE CONDITIONS TO AFFECT THE MID STATE THIS WEEKEND...

A POWERFUL COLD FRONT WILL MOVE ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE THIS
AFTERNOON AND USHER IN WINTER-LIKE CONDITIONS TO THE MID STATE FOR
THE UPCOMING WEEKEND. FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED BOTH
TONIGHT AND SATURDAY NIGHT...AND SOME LIGHT SNOW IS EVEN POSSIBLE
TONIGHT ACROSS THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL CUMBERLAND PLATEAU.

FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...SCATTERED RAIN SHOWERS ARE

REGION...TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO FALL. IN FACT...OUTDOOR
FESTIVITIES THIS EVENING WILL INCLUDE CHILLY TEMPERATURES FALLING
THROUGH THE 40S AREA WIDE...EXCEPT INTO THE 30S ACROSS NORTHERN
AREAS AND THE PLATEAU BY MID EVENING. GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO
25 MPH WILL ADD TO THE CHILL.

BY MID TO LATE EVENING...TEMPERATURES DROPPING INTO THE 30S WILL
ALLOW FOR THE LIGHT RAIN TO MIX WITH AND CHANGEOVER TO SOME LIGHT
SNOW ON THE NORTHERN CUMBERLAND PLATEAU. AREAS FROM MONTEREY TO
JAMESTOWN COULD EVEN SEE A DUSTING OF SNOW. MUCH HEAVIER SNOW IS
EXPECTED ACROSS EAST TENNESSEE ON FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY...SO IF
TRAVELING IN THAT DIRECTION THIS WEEKEND PREPARE FOR SNOWY
CONDITIONS.

BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS MUCH OF THE MID
STATE BY SUNRISE SATURDAY...WITH LOWS FALLING INTO THE UPPER 20S TO
LOWER 30S. HIGHS WILL ONLY RISE INTO THE 40S TO AROUND 50 SATURDAY
AFTERNOON...BEFORE TEMPERATURES FALL INTO THE 25 TO 30 DEGREE RANGE
THROUGHOUT THE AREA SATURDAY NIGHT.

A FREEZE WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE ENTIRE MID STATE AREA BOTH
