High temperatures today will be around 10 degrees above normal, with portions of southeast Utah and southwest Colorado seeing triple digit heat. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday. The unusual heat lingers into Friday, with the desert valleys seeing the hottest day of the year thus far. Increasing moisture will lead to more clouds and showers over the higher terrain, with coverage expanding each afternoon through early next week. East River at Almont affecting Gunnison County. .Warm temperatures will accelerate snowmelt across the Elk Mountains through the weekend. Expect increasing flows on many creeks and streams across the East and Taylor Basins. Diurnal forecast peaks are expected to exceed Action Stage, specifically on the East River at Almont, each morning through the weekend. For the East River...including Almont...elevated river levels are forecast. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an alternative route.
