Through 1000 am, light to moderate showers with isolated embedded thunderstorms across the Florida Keys coastal waters will move northeast at 15 to 20 knots. The strongest storms are in the distant Straits of Florida near and adjacent to Elbow Cay. Mariners can expect moderate to heavy downpours reducing visibilities below 2 miles, wind gusts nearing 30 knots, and occasional lightning strikes within the stronger storms. Otherwise, light to moderate showers will move across the island chain, but rainfall accumulation will remain minimal. $$ NB
