...Scattered Thunderstorms Continue into This Evening...
...Localized Flooding Possible in Poor Drainage Areas...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Atlantic coastal waters,
southeast Florida, southern Florida, southwest Florida and Gulf of
Mexico.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

Thunderstorms: Scattered thunderstorms will continue into the early
evening hours. The strongest storms may contain periods of heavy
rain, gusty winds and frequent lightning.

Flooding: With slow moving thunderstorms containing heavy downpours,
localized flooding is possible across the urban and poor drainage
areas.

Excessive Heat: Peak indices of at least 100 degrees are possible
through the early evening hours.

Waterspouts: A few waterspouts are possible over the Atlantic and
Gulf waters.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue to be possible each day
becoming more widespread by the middle to the end of the week.
Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall will be possible during this time
frame across the region as deep tropical moisture pushes into the
area. This could lead to potential for some flooding concerns across
South Florida for the middle to latter portion of the week.

Peak indices over 100 degrees are possible again on Monday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather spotters are encouraged to report high wind, hail, and
flooding to the National Weather Service forecast office in Miami.

...Heavy Rainfall Possible This Upcoming Week...

Increasing tropical moisture is expected to advect into the region
this upcoming week. PWAT values will be increasing to values in
excess of 2.5 inches, which is around seasonal maxes for this time
of year.

The increase in moisture will likely result in periods of heavy
rain across South Florida from Tuesday through at least Friday.
Slow moving storms combined with high rainfall rates may lead to
instances of flooding, especially over urban and poor drainage
locations.

At this time there is still plenty of uncertainty regarding timing
of heaviest rainfall and rainfall amounts. Those details should
come into clearer focus over the coming days.
