This hazardous weather outlook is for southeast Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Excessive heat warnings and heat advisories are in effect. Please
refer to the latest urgent weather message for details.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible today, mainly this afternoon and
evening. The strongest storms will be capable of producing hail to a
half inch and wind gusts up to 60 MPH. Storms will move to the
northeast at 30 MPH. Any storm will be capable of producing
torrential rainfall. Localized flooding is possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Heat advisories and warnings will remain in effect through the end of
the week. Opportunities exist for periods of thunderstorms Wednesday
into the weekend. Confidence on coverage and timing remain very low.

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 102.

* WHERE...Genesee, Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Counties.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat stress will increase with the number of
  consecutive hot days. Hot conditions are forecast for the next
  five days. The effects of heat are most impactful for more
  vulnerable urban populations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
