0.5 to 1 inch in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly.

         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Eastern Albuquerque, North Valley, South Valley and Carnuel.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 159 and 170.
Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 219 and 225.

The heaviest rainfall of near 2 inches has occurred near or just
west of the Four Hills community.

deaths occur in vehicles.

Arroyos, streams, and normally dry rivers can become raging killer

miles and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of normally
dry arroyos and streambeds, low water crossings, intersections and
underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low lying areas.
