AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas. ONSET...Early Afternoon. DISCUSSION... Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms will continue to move across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas through this morning as a disturbance pushes over the region. Additional thunderstorm chances develop late afternoon with a surface boundary near the Kansas border, and continue tonight across mainly northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas as another storm complex moves into the region. A limited severe potential exists with the morning activity, with the greater severe potential this afternoon into tonight across northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats. Locally heavy rainfall will also be a concern through tonight. Also this afternoon, warmer and more humid conditions spread over the region, with afternoon heat index values in the upper 90s to around 104 degrees forecast for eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Take heat precautions while outdoors today. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. SUNDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. THURSDAY AND FRIDAY...No Hazards. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Thunderstorm chances continue Sunday with a frontal boundary sagging southward through eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Limited severe potentials are possible along the frontal boundary during the day Sunday. Additional thunderstorm chances remain for Sunday night into Monday and again Tuesday with a couple low pressure systems moving through the Southern Plains.
