...EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH
SATURDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 111 expected. A period of
  dangerously hot and humid conditions are expected. This level of
  heat affects most individual sensitive to heat.

* WHERE...Mayaguez and Vicinity, North Central, Northwest, and San
  Juan and Vicinity Counties.

* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from 10 AM this morning to 6 PM AST
  this evening. For the Excessive Heat Watch, from Saturday morning
  through Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Puerto Rico.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

.Lightning...Isolated thunderstorms possible across coastal waters
between SE Puerto Rico and the adjacent islands during the morning
hours and over the west interior sections and coastal waters of the
Mona passage during the afternoon hours. Be aware of thunderstorms
in your area and be prepared to take shelter.

.Excessive Heat...Along the west and northwest to north central
coastal and urban areas of Puerto Rico, this level of heat affects
anyone without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. Impacts
likely in some health systems, heat- sensitive industries and
infrastructure. Elsewhere impacts possible in some health systems
and in heat-sensitive industries.

.Wind...Breezy conditions mainly along the coastal areas during
the afternoon hours. Unsecured items could blow around.

.Rip Currents...Life-threatening rip currents are possible in the
surf zone, particularly in beaches of southeast sections of Puerto
Rico.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Warm to hot conditions will continue into the weekend, with an
Excessive Heat Watch again possible by Friday as local easterly winds
will become more southeasterly and Saharan dust will spread across
the region once again. Afternoon convective development may lead
to limited excessive rainfall impacts, mainly across far western
sections of Puerto Rico. A moderate risk of rip current will
continue for most of the southeast beaches of Puerto Rico through
Friday and Saturday.
