Widespread thunderstorms are expected this evening and tonight across the South Plains region. Some storms could be strong to severe and produce hail up to one inch in diameter and wind gusts up to 70 mph. These storms will also be capable of producing heavy rainfall resulting in localized flooding. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. Thunderstorms Monday through Tuesday may produce additional heavy rain and flooding. Some storms may be severe on Monday night. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation may be needed. $$

EVENING FOR CENTRAL LUBBOCK COUNTY...
At 704 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1
and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to
0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
