This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southeast New Mexico,
southwest Texas and western Texas.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

There is a marginal to slight risk for severe thunderstorms in the
Permian Basin and Trans Pecos this afternoon and evening. Large hail
and damaging winds are the main concerns.

Lightning fire starts are also a concern, especially for the western
high terrain.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

There is a low risk for severe thunderstorms across eastern portions
of the area Tuesday afternoon. Large hail and damaging winds will
again be the main threats.

Diurnally driven storms from heating of elevated terrain will pose
the risk of fire starts each afternoon.

Hazardous heat is possible Wednesday through next Monday.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 PM CDT
FOR NORTH CENTRAL REEVES AND CENTRAL LOVING COUNTIES...

At 608 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Red Bluff
Reservoir, or 23 miles northwest of Mentone, moving southeast at 20
mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters reported quarter size hail
         northwest of Orla.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Mentone, Red Bluff Reservoir, Slash Ranch, and Red Bluff.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
