...FLOOD ADVISORY FOR SNOWMELT NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM MDT
THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt continues.

* WHERE...A portion of central Wyoming, including the following
  county, Fremont.

* WHEN...Until 800 AM MDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Some low-water crossings may become impassable. River or stream
  flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 532 AM MDT, gauge reports indicated snowmelt due to warm
    temperatures. Minor flooding is ongoing in the advisory area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Lander, Hudson, Milford, Sinks Canyon State Park, Frye Lake,
    Worthen Meadows Reservoir, Sinks Canyon Campground and Lander
    Hunt Field.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.

...The Flood Advisory is extended for the following rivers in
Wyoming...

  Little Wind River near Riverton affecting Fremont County.

.Warm temperatures will melt high mountain snowpack and increase
river flows.

For the Little Wind River Basin...including Riverton...elevated
river levels are forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay tuned to further developments by listening to your local radio,
television, or NOAA Weather Radio for further information.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt continues.

* WHERE...Little Wind River near Riverton.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, Bankfull stage.
  At 8.0 feet, Flood stage. The Rendezvous Campground experiences
  minor flooding of the lowest riverside campsites on the west end.
  People who live in mobile homes directly adjacent to the river
  along the right bank will have standing water in their front yard.
  Minor flooding along either side of Highways 135 and 789. Highway
  structures are not affected.


* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 4:15 AM MDT Wednesday the stage was 7.1 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will oscillate below flood stage with a
    maximum value of 7.2 feet just after midnight tonight.
  - Action stage is 7.0 feet.
  - Flood stage is 8.0 feet.

...Flood Advisories remain in effect for some rivers and creeks in
central Wyoming...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Western and Central Wyoming.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Elevated to near-critical fire weather conditions will be in place
once again across most low-elevation areas this afternoon. Wind gusts
up to 35 mph will be widespread across the forecast area.

Warm temperatures will lead to increased mountain snowmelt.
Rising streams and rivers may lead to minor flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Mountain snowmelt will continue through the rest of the week. Streams
and rivers will continue to run high, which may lead to minor
flooding.
