This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Western and Central Wyoming.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Showers and thunderstorms becoming widespread this afternoon,
continuing into the evening. Strong to severe thunderstorms are
possible, with severe wind gusts and large hail the main threats.
Locally heavy rain could also occur.

Warm temperatures will lead to increased mountain snowmelt.
Rising streams and rivers may lead to minor flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

* IMPACTS...At 4.5 feet, Bankfull stage.
  At 5.0 feet, Flood stage. Minor low level flooding possible
  upstream and downstream. Flooding of low areas in Dubois.
  At 5.5 feet, Record flow---1,940 cfs (6/8/1972).
  At 5.5 feet, Major Flood Stage. Low land flooding intensifies and
  becomes more widespread in and around Dubois.
  At 5.7 feet, Record stage (6/2/1956).
  At 6.0 feet, Major Flood Stage. High water may reach low-lying
  property downstream. High water problems should be monitored in
  Dubois.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt continues.

* WHERE...Little Wind River near Riverton.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, Bankfull stage.
  At 8.0 feet, Flood stage. The Rendezvous Campground experiences
  minor flooding of the lowest riverside campsites on the west end.
  People who live in mobile homes directly adjacent to the river
  along the right bank will have standing water in their front yard.
  Minor flooding along either side of Highways 135 and 789. Highway
  structures are not affected.
  At 9.0 feet, The lowest tier of Fort Rendezvous campsites is under
  less than 1 ft of water. Escape routes are not affected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:15 AM MDT Sunday the stage was 7.0 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will oscillate below flood stage with a
    maximum value of 7.4 feet this evening.

  At 9.0 feet, Flood stage. Minor flooding along the right and left
  banks upstream of the Highway 789 Bridge. Agricultural flooding
  downstream of Riverton near the Black Bridge and Hidden Valley
  area intensifies.
  At 10.0 feet, Extensive agricultural flooding downstream of
  Riverton near the Black Bridge and Hidden Valley area. Water
  begins to encroach homes along the right bank.
  At 11.0 feet, Major flooding of homes along the right bank. Water
  begins to encroach low lying areas west of Highway 789.

  becomes more widespread and intensifies. Water begins to encroach
  the north end of Highway 132.
  At 9.9 feet, Record stage and flow---16,600 cfs (7/1/2011).

* IMPACTS...At 9.0 feet, Bankfull stage.
  At 9.5 feet, Very minor low land flooding begins.
  At 10.0 feet, Flood stage. Minor low land flooding becomes more
  widespread. Access road to gage begins to be covered with water.
  At 10.5 feet, Moderate low land flooding upstream and downstream
  of gage. Access to gage is becomes limited.
  At 10.9 feet, Record flow---14,700 cfs (7/1/2011).
  At 11.0 feet, Major low land and agricultural flooding upstream
  and downstream. High water begins to impact Highway 26 northwest
  of Morton to the Highway 26 Bridge. Access to gage is severely
  limited.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt continues.

* WHERE...Middle Fork Popo Agie River near Sinks Canyon.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 4.2 feet, Flow into the overflow channel from the
  Sinks to the Rise begins.
  At 5.5 feet, Bankfull stage downstream of gage.
  At 6.0 feet, Water over low lying area immediately downstream of
  gage.  Lander emergency officials begin notifying land owners
  downstream of gage that major flooding may occur within 12 to 24
  hours if river continues to rise.
  At 6.2 feet, Cautionary sandbagging is needed along the river near
  City Park and 2nd Street.
  At 6.5 feet, Flood stage. Low lying property along Popo Agie
  Estates Subdivision south of Lander is under water. Severe bank
  erosion possible along Middle Fork Popo Agie River from City Park
  to the Main Street Bridge. Constant sandbagging is needed.
