URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MEMPHIS TN
320 PM CDT TUE JUL 28 2015

...VERY HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT THE
ENTIRE MID-SOUTH THROUGH WEDNESDAY WHICH WILL MARK THE LAST DAY
OF THE PROLONGED HEAT WAVE ACROSS THE REGION. COOLER TEMPERATURES
AND LOWER HUMIDITY ARE FORECAST FOR THE END OF THE WEEK...

.EXCESSIVE HEAT WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD ACROSS THE MIDSOUTH FROM
THE WEST...INCREASING AND EXPANDING THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE MIDDLE AND UPPER 90S COMBINED WITH HIGH
HUMIDITY WILL PRODUCE HEAT INDEX READINGS OVER 110 DEGREES FROM
LATE MORNING TO EARLY EVENING ACROSS EASTERN ARKANSAS...NORTHWEST
MISSISSIPPI AND EXTREME WEST TENNESSEE INCLUDING THE MEMPHIS
METROPOLITAN AREA. HEAT INDEX VALUES OVER THE REMAINDER OF THE
MID-SOUTH WILL EXCEED 105 DEGREES. OVERNIGHT LOW TEMPERATURES FROM
THE MIDDLE 70S TO LOWER 80S WILL PROVIDE LITTLE RELIEF FOR THOSE
WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING.

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING HAS BEEN POSTED THROUGH WEDNESDAY
EVENING ACROSS EASTERN ARKANSAS...NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI AND
EXTREME WEST TENNESSEE INCLUDING THE MEMPHIS METROPOLITAN AREA. A
HEAT ADVISORY CONTINUES ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF THE MID-SOUTH. A
COLD FRONT IS FORECAST TO MOVE THROUGH MID-SOUTH WEDNESDAY NIGHT
BRINGING AN END TO THE HIGH HEAT AND HUMIDITY.

WEDNESDAY...

* HEAT INDEX READINGS...ABOVE 110 DEGREES. OVERNIGHT LOW
  TEMPERATURES IN THE MIDDLE 70S TO LOWER 80S WILL PROVIDE LITTLE
  RELIEF FOR THOSE WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING.

* TIMING...HOTTEST PART OF THE DAY BETWEEN 11 AM AND 8 PM.
  UNCOMFORTABLY WARM AND HUMID THROUGH THE REST OF THE PERIOD.

* IMPACTS...INCREASED RISK OF HEAT-RELATED ILLNESSES INCLUDING
  HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE IF YOU DO NOT TAKE THE PROPER
  PRECAUTIONS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING MEANS THAT A PROLONGED PERIOD OF
DANGEROUSLY HOT TEMPERATURES WILL OCCUR. THE COMBINATION OF HOT
TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A DANGEROUS
SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE LIKELY. DRINK PLENTY OF
FLUIDS...STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM...STAY OUT OF THE SUN...
AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR EASTERN
ARKANSAS...NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI AND EXTREME WEST TENNESSEE
INCLUDING THE MEMPHIS METROPOLITAN AREA. HEAT INDICES WILL EXCEED
110 DEGREES THROUGH EARLY EVENING.

A HEAT ADVISORY CONTINUES FOR THE REMAINDER OF MID-SOUTH. HEAT
INDICES WILL HOVER BETWEEN 105 AND 110 DEGREES THROUGH EARLY
EVENING.

VERY WARM LOW TEMPERATURES ARE AGAIN EXPECTED TONIGHT PROVIDING
LITTLE RELIEF TO THOSE WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING CONTINUES THROUGH WEDNESDAY FOR EASTERN
ARKANSAS...NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI AND EXTREME WEST TENNESSEE
INCLUDING THE MEMPHIS METROPOLITAN AREA.

A HEAT ADVISORY CONTINUES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE MID-SOUTH
THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

A FEW STRONG THUNDERSTORMS MAY OCCUR WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO
THURSDAY WITH THE PASSAGE OF A COLD FRONT. STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND
LOCALLY HEAVY DOWNPOURS ARE POSSIBLE.
