Flood Advisory
National Weather Service Flagstaff AZ

1004 PM MST WED AUG 23 2017

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a

* Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Yavapai County in west central Arizona...
Coconino County in north central Arizona...

* Until midnight MST

* At 1000 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms over rural areas east of Camp Verde and Rimrock,
including the Wet Beaver Creek drainage. This will cause rapid
rises in washes and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Up
to one and a half inches of rain has already fallen over the Long
  Canyon drainage.

* Flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of Yavapai and
  Coconino Counties.

This includes the following streams and drainages...Beaver Creek...
Long Canyon...Brady Canyon...Russell Wash...West Clear Creek...Jacks
Canyon and Walker Creek.

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually deeper
than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough
to sweep vehicles off the road. When encountering flooded roads, make
the smart choice: turn around, don`t drown.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, as well as farm and country roads. Do not attempt
to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
