...Rapid Change to Wind and Snow for Morning Commute...

A strong cold front is bringing a narrow line of heavy rains and
strong winds to the region this morning. As of 730 AM the front was
located roughly along Interstate 80, and is racing southeast at 30
to 40 mph.

* Expect rapidly changing conditions for the morning commute in
places like Lake Tahoe, Reno, Carson City, Minden, Yerington,
  Fallon, and Fernley.

* Roads will be wet and visibility will be low for roughly an hour
as the front passes through. Plan for extra time for travel. Quick
snow accumulations are possible above 5000 feet which will result
in temporary slick road conditions. Temperatures will drop rapidly
from the 50s to the 30s within 15 minutes.

* Winds will gust to 50 mph, and will be erratic in direction,
making for hazardous travel for high profile vehicles and
aviation. Blowing dust is possible along Highway 95.
