This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and adjacent counties in
central Maryland and northern Virginia as well as the District of

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Baltimore-
Washington metro corridor until 7 pm. Untreated surfaces will
become snowy and icy...impacting the evening commute. For the
rest of the outlook area...light snow accumulations may cause
slippery conditions through the evening commute.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.


Spotter activation is not expected at this time.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Snow may mix with freezing drizzle at
  times. Plan on slippery road conditions, including during the
  evening commute. Total snow accumulations a coating to an inch
  around Washington DC and nearby suburbs with 1 to 2 inches
  around Baltimore and nearby suburbs. A light glaze of ice from
  freezing drizzle is possible.

* WHERE...Metro Baltimore and the District of Columbia,
  including its northern and eastern suburbs.

* WHEN...Through 7 pm this evening. The steadiest snow will be
  through 4 pm for the Washington Metropolitan area and through 6
  pm for the Baltimore Metropolitan area.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light snow combined with cold temperatures
  will cause snowy and icy conditions on any untreated road
  surfaces. Untreated surfaces will remain slippery through
  tonight with temperatures remaining below freezing.


A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
