...Areas of light snow over central Iowa already this morning with
snow and ice expected rest of today and tonight...

.A winter storm will move over the state today and tonight. While
there are areas of light snow moving across central Iowa already
early this morning, will see snow transition to freezing rain or
freezing drizzle. Precipitation will primarily be snow over far
north central Iowa, though freezing rain/drizzle may mix in at
times. The precipitation will begin to end by around midnight
over western Iowa and across central Iowa by daybreak Friday.

Mason City, Clear Lake, Pocahontas, Laurens, Rolfe, Fonda,
Gilmore City, Humboldt, Eagle Grove, Clarion, Belmond, Hampton,
Parkersburg, Clarksville, Shell Rock, Greene, Aplington, Allison,
Dumont, Waverly, Sac City, Lake View, Odebolt, Wall Lake,
Schaller, Early, Rockwell City, Manson, Lake City, Pomeroy,

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations of
  up to two inches and ice accumulations of between a tenth and
  two tenths of an inch are expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern, central and northern Iowa.

* WHEN...Until midnight CST tonight.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The ice will result in difficult travel
  conditions, including during the evening commute. Be prepared
  for reduced visibilities at times.

slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the area. Please refer

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Another winter storm system is expected to impact the state
Saturday into Saturday night. This storm could bring moderate to
heavy snow accumulations to the area.


Spotter activation will not be needed.
