...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR FREEZING RAIN ISSUED FOR NORTHWEST
ADA COUNTY...INCLUDING THE ENTIRE BOISE METRO AREA...THROUGH 5 AM
MST...

...THIS JOINS SEVERAL OTHER ZONES IN WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES
TONIGHT...AND UP UNTIL 11 AM MST SATURDAY IN SOME CASES...

...THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW FOR THE LOWER TREASURE
VALLEY HAS BEEN CHANGED TO A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR FREEZING
RAIN...

.FREEZING RAIN HAS BEEN INCREDIBLY PERSISTENT TODAY INTO THIS
EVENING ACROSS THE LOWER TREASURE VALLEY...AND THIS AREA EXTENDS
INTO THE UPPER TREASURE VALLEY. SPECIFICALLY...IT EXTENDS INTO
NORTHWEST ADA COUNTY. TEMPERATURES HAVE BEEN SLOW TO MODERATE AT
THE SURFACE EVEN AS VERY WARM AIR MOVES IN JUST A THOUSAND OR TWO
FEET ABOVE THE GROUND. THEREFORE WE HAVE ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER
ADVISORY FOR FREEZING RAIN FOR NORTHWEST ADA COUNTY VALID UNTIL 5
AM MST. THERE IS A CHANCE THE FREEZING RAIN MAY LAST BEYOND 5 AM
MST AND INTO TOMORROW MORNING. WITH APPROXIMATELY 0.20 INCHES OF
RAIN EXPECTED...WATCH OUT FOR SLIPPERY UNTREATED ROADS...PARKING
LOTS...AND SIDEWALKS. TREES AND POWER LINES WILL BECOME HEAVY
WITH ICE. BRANCHES AND WEAKENED TREES COULD BE FELLED.

THIS JOINS THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY ISSUED PREVIOUSLY FOR THE
LOWER TREASURE VALLEY...BAKER COUNTY...THE UPPER WEISER RIVER
BASIN...THE CAMAS PRAIRIE...AND THE MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHWEST IDAHO.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BOISE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER
ADVISORY FOR FREEZING RAIN...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM MST
SATURDAY.

* FREEZING RAIN AMOUNTS...FREEZING RAIN IS EXPECTED TO TOTAL
  AROUND 0.20 INCHES.

* IMPACTS...FREEZING RAIN ACCUMULATION ON UNTREATED ROADS WILL
  MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT. ACCUMULATIONS ON TREES WILL LIKELY BRING
  BRANCHES AND SOME DISEASED OR OTHERWISE WEAKENED TREES DOWN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR
FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
