...Elevated Fire Weather Potential This Afternoon...

Dry conditions persist across southern New England with the
overall recent lack of precipitation. South to southwest winds
will gust to around 25 miles per hour this afternoon. There is a
chance of a few 25 to 30 mph gusts toward 4 or 5 pm. These winds
will combine with relatively warm temperatures in the low to mid
70s and within a dry airmass to yield minimum relative humidity
values of 30 to 35 percent. This will lead to an elevated fire
weather potential through this afternoon.

On Friday, northwest winds are only expected to gust to 20 mph,
but it still will be dry with minimum relative humidity values near
30 percent, so we will be close to having an elevated risk for
fire potential as well.
