At 1126 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that heavy rain was falling over the area. Three to four inches of
rain have already fallen just west of Glenmont and water rescues are
ongoing. Another area of heavy rain is moving into this same area
and another one to two inches of rain are possible. This is a
dangerous situation! Flash flooding is already occurring.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Germantown, Rockville, Bethesda, Gaithersburg, Olney, Langley Park,
Beltsville, Lowes Island, Aspen Hill, Potomac, North Bethesda,
Montgomery Village, North Potomac, Fairland, White Oak, Redland,
Takoma Park, Great Falls, Adelphi and Colesville.

This includes flood prone locations
Columbia Pike at Paint Branch...
Goldmine Road at Hawlings River...
Connecticut Avenue just north of the Beltway...
River Road at Cabin John Creek west of the Beltway...
University Boulevard at Sligo Creek...
Viers Mill Road at Rock Creek...
Beach Drive along Rock Creek...
Sligo Creek Parkway...
and Georgia Avenue at Brookeville Road at Reddy Branch.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

...The National Weather Service in Sterling Va has issued a flood
warning for the following rivers in Maryland...

  Seneca Creek at Dawsonville affecting Montgomery County

 Heavy rain will develop across Montgomery County today and tonight.
 This heavy rain is likely to cause flooding along Seneca Creek.


Never attempt to drive through a flooded roadway...this is how most
flood deaths result.

The National Weather Service in Sterling Va has issued a
* Flood Warning for
  The Seneca Creek at Dawsonville.
* From this afternoon until Saturday afternoon.
* At 9 AM Friday the stage was 2.1 feet and steady.
* Flood stage is 7.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late tonight and crest
  near 7.7 feet by tomorrow morning. The river will fall below flood
  stage by late tomorrow morning. Heavier rain may cause the creek to
  rise above flood stage sooner, so be prepared as early as this
* Impact...At 7.5 feet...Portions of the Seneca Creek Greenway are
  flooded. A small portion of Berryville Road west of Darnestown
  begins to flood.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 7.6 feet
  on Feb 4 2016.
