Flood Advisory

1045 AM EDT SUN APR 23 2017

...The flood advisory continues for the following rivers in Southwest
Lower Michigan...

  Grand River At Ionia affecting Ionia County
  Grand River At Lowell affecting Kent County
  Looking Glass River Near Eagle affecting Clinton County
  Sycamore Creek At Holt affecting Ingham County
  Maple River At Maple Rapids affecting Clinton County

.Dry conditions through Tuesday will lead to some improvement of high
water levels. The latter part of the week may produce a few rounds of
rain, which could keep some river levels elevated for longer than
currently forecast. The following forecast is based on observed and
forecast 24 hour precipitation.


Safety message...Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

A flood advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are
forecast to exceed bankfull.  If you are in the advisory area remain
alert to possible flooding...or the possibility of the advisory being
upgraded to a warning.  Report observed flooding to local emergency
services or law enforcement and request they pass this information on
to the National Weather Service.

The Flood Advisory continues for
  the Grand River At Lowell
* until late Tuesday night.
* Current observed data was not available. The stage was estimated
  to be near 10.1 feet Sunday morning.
* Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast, the river is near its crest of about 10.1 feet and will
  begin to fall over the next couple days.
* Impact, at 10.0 feet...River is bankfull. Expect flooding of low
  lying areas adjacent to the banks.
