Flood Advisory

1041 AM EDT WED JUL 1 2015

...The flood advisory is extended for the following rivers in
Southwest Lower Michigan...

  Grand River At Ionia affecting Ionia County
  Sycamore Creek At Holt affecting Ingham County

...The flood advisory continues for the following rivers in Southwest
Lower Michigan...

  Kalamazoo River At Comstock affecting Kalamazoo County
  Kalamazoo River Near New Richmond affecting Allegan County

.A narrow swath of about 1 inch of precipitation fell near and south
of Lansing on Monday. This water will collect in the Sycamore Creek
and upper Grand River basin. The flood advisories near Holt and
Ionia have been extended to account for this. The flood advisories
near Comstock and New Richmond continue, and river levels there are
slowly receding. The following forecast is based on observed
and forecast 24 hour precipitation.


Safety message...Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

A flood advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are
forecast to exceed bankfull.  If you are in the advisory area remain
alert to possible flooding... or the possibility of the advisory
being upgraded to a warning. Report observed flooding to local
emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this
information on to the National Weather Service.

The Flood Advisory continues for
  the Kalamazoo River At Comstock
* until Friday morning.
* at 10 AM Wednesday the stage was 7.4 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Forecast, the river will continue to fall.
* Impact, at 8.0 feet...Expect minor flooding in park in Comstock.
