Winter Storm Warning

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOUNT HOLLY NJ
1004 PM EST MON JAN 26 2015

...A MAJOR WINTER STORM WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF OUR AREA THROUGH
TUESDAY MORNING...

.RAPIDLY INTENSIFYING LOW PRESSURE EAST OF THE DELAWARE COAST
WILL MOVE NORTHEASTWARD TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY MORNING. THIS
INTENSE LOW WILL TRACK SOUTHEAST OF CAPE COD TUESDAY EVENING, THEN
WEAKEN AS IT MOVES AWAY TO NOVA SCOTIA ON WEDNESDAY. THIS STORM
WILL PRODUCE HEAVY SNOW ACROSS PORTIONS OF OUR AREA, HOWEVER A
SHARP DROP OFF IN AMOUNTS ARE ANTICIPATED TO OCCUR AS ONE GOES
FARTHER SOUTHWEST AND WEST ACROSS OUR AREA. THE BRUNT OF THE STORM
IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR OVERNIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING.

TUESDAY...

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW WITH AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...6 TO 12 INCHES.

* TIMING...SNOW REDEVELOPING FROM NORTHEAST TO SOUTHWEST OVERNIGHT
  AND BECOMING HEAVY AT TIMES. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL OCCUR
  OVERNIGHT AND TUESDAY MORNING WHEN SNOWFALL RATES OF AN INCH
  PER HOUR CAN OCCUR AT TIMES WITHIN HEAVIER BANDS. THE SNOW IS
  EXPECTED TO TAPER OFF DURING TUESDAY AFTERNOON.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL DUE TO HEAVY SNOW AT TIMES AND AREAS
  OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST TO NORTH 15 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE 20S.

* VISIBILITY...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW IS
EXPECTED, AND STRONG WINDS ARE POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL
