The National Weather Service in Elko Nevada has issued a

* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
  Southeastern Lander County in north central Nevada...
  North central Nye County in south central Nevada...
  Southern Eureka County in north central Nevada...

* Until 1030 PM PDT

* At 729 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated that an inch of rain had
  fallen at some locations due to heavy thunderstorms. Additional
  storms area training over the same area with added accumulation to
  come. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding in the
  advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Hickison Summit, Diamond Valley, Eureka Airport, Grass Valley,
  Garden Pass, Mount Callaghan, Monitor Valley, Antelope Peak and Bob
  Scott Summit.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

.Favorable conditions are expected to develop today and continue
through tonight for scattered heavy rain producing thunderstorm
activity across much of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona, and
southeast California. Focus of heavy rainfall will shift into
mainly southern Nevada and northern Mohave county Tuesday.

Western Mojave Desert-Eastern Mojave Desert-Morongo Basin-
Cadiz Basin-San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River Valley-
Esmeralda and Central Nye County-
Western Clark and Southern Nye County-

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of northwest Arizona, southeast California, and
  Nevada, including the following areas, in northwest Arizona,
  Lake Havasu and Fort Mohave and Northwest Deserts. In
  southeast California, Cadiz Basin, Eastern Mojave Desert,
  Morongo Basin, San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River
  Valley, and Western Mojave Desert. In Nevada, Esmeralda and
  Central Nye County and Western Clark and Southern Nye County.

* Through late tonight

* Any thunderstorm that develops today and tonight will be
  capable of producing intense rainfall which could lead to
  flash flooding in the watch area. Flooding of normally dry
  washes, low water crossings, and poorly drained intersections
  are likely.


If you are in the watch should closely monitor weather
forecasts and be prepared to take immediate action should heavy
rain and flooding occur or a flash flood warning is issued.
