...Rain Changing to Sleet and Snow this afternoon...

Rain continues to transition to snow over the Glens Falls
corridor, Saratoga Region, southern Vermont, the Mohawk Valley,
Greater Capital Region, northern Catskills, central and northern
Taconics, Berkshires, and the Schoharie Valley between 2 and 4 pm.
The precipitation will quickly turn to snow and sleet between
Interstate 88 and Interstate 90 between 2 and 3 pm. Temperatures
will be in the lower to mid 30s with light snow accumulations
expected on some of the untreated surfaces ranging from a coating
to up to an inch in a few locations. Visibilities could lower to
under a half mile briefly in the snow. Exercise caution while
driving out on the roads this afternoon with the snow and briefly
reduced visibilities.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Berkshires of western
Massachusetts, the southern Adirondacks, Mohawk Valley, Great Capital
Region, eastern Catskills, Helderbergs, Schoharie Valley, northern
and central Taconics, Lake George northern Saratoga Region of east
central New York, and southern Vermont.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Periods of mixed precipitation including snow, sleet and freezing
rain are also possible late tonight. Winter weather advisories may
be needed later in time for portions of the region.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Periods of mixed precipitation including snow, sleet and freezing
rain are also possible Sunday. The greatest threat of any ice
accretions at this time appears to be into Sunday morning and again
late Sunday night into Monday morning. Winter weather advisories may
be needed later in time for portions of the region.


Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
