Severe Thunderstorm and Flash Flood Threats Continue into the Weekend

Severe thunderstorms are expected from the southern Plains to the Midwest through Friday night. Severe storm hazards may include large hail, severe winds, and tornadoes, some of which may be strong. There will be another chance for severe thunderstorms on Saturday for portions of Texas, the Lower Mississippi Valley, and the Ohio Valley. Rest Of Tonight: South winds 10 to 20 kt increasing to 30 kt. Widespread dense fog. Chance of rain showers and thunderstorms through early evening, then rain showers with a chance of thunderstorms overnight. Waves 3 to 5 ft building to 5 to 8 ft occasionally to 10 ft.

Saturday: South winds to 30 kt becoming southwest late in the morning, then becoming west 15 to 25 kt early in the afternoon diminishing to 10 to 20 kt late. Patchy dense fog in the morning. Chance of rain showers and slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning. Waves 5 to 8 ft occasionally to 10 ft subsiding to 4 to 7 ft occasionally to 9 ft.

Saturday Night: West winds 10 to 20 kt becoming southwest 15 to 25 kt. Waves 4 to 6 ft occasionally to 8 ft subsiding to 3 to 5 ft.

Sunday: Southwest winds to 30 kt. Waves 5 to 8 ft occasionally to 10 ft.

Sunday Night: Southwest winds to 30 kt. Waves 6 to 9 ft occasionally to 12 ft.

Monday: Southwest winds to 30 kt diminishing to 15 to 25 kt. Waves 6 to 9 ft occasionally to 12 ft.

Monday Night: Northwest winds 10 to 20 kt veering to northeast 15 to 25 kt. Waves 3 to 5 ft building to 4 to 7 ft occasionally to 9 ft.

Tuesday: Northeast winds 15 to 25 kt increasing to 30 kt. Chance of rain. Waves 5 to 8 ft occasionally to 10 ft building to 8 to 11 ft occasionally to 14 ft.

Wednesday: North winds to 30 kt. Chance of rain. Waves 8 to 12 ft occasionally to 16 ft subsiding to 8 to 11 ft occasionally to 14 ft.
