Heavy lake-effect and lake-enhanced snow will persist downwind of the Great Lakes and produce some whiteout conditions that could cause difficult travel conditions. A coastal low will produce moderate to heavy snow over parts of southern and eastern New England into the afternoon. Tonight: West winds to 30 kt. Heavy freezing spray. Scattered snow showers. Waves 8 to 12 ft occasionally to 16 ft subsiding to 8 to 11 ft occasionally to 14 ft.

Tuesday: West winds to 30 kt diminishing to 15 to 25 kt late in the morning, then becoming west 15 to 25 kt early in the afternoon becoming southwest 10 to 20 kt late. Chance of snow showers in the morning. Heavy freezing spray in the morning, then freezing spray in the afternoon. Waves 7 to 10 ft occasionally to 13 ft subsiding to 4 to 7 ft occasionally to 9 ft.

Tuesday Night: Southwest winds 10 to 20 kt increasing to 15 to 25 kt. Chance of snow in the evening, then snow overnight. Waves 4 to 6 ft occasionally to 8 ft.
