A winter storm will impact the central Appalachians to the Northeast through the night. Accumulating snow is expected for interior New England and the northern Mid-Atlantic. Scattered showers and occasional thunderstorms will persist across Florida and the Southeast coast. Tonight: Northwest wind 15 to 20 knots. Gusts up to 30 knots decreasing to 20 knots. Chance of flurries in the evening. Waves 3 to 5 feet subsiding to 1 to 3 feet early in the morning.

Thursday: Southwest wind 20 to 25 knots with gusts to around 30 knots. Slight chance of snow in the afternoon. Waves 1 to 3 feet building to 3 to 5 feet in the afternoon. Waves occasionally to 7 feet.

Thursday Night: Southwest wind up to 30 knots with gales to around 35 knots becoming west 15 to 20 knots with gusts to around 25 knots early in the morning. Freezing spray through the night. Snow in the evening. Snow likely after midnight. Waves 4 to 7 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet early in the morning. Waves occasionally to 9 feet. A gale warning may be needed.
