Tracking Storms with Impacts in the Eastern and Northwest U.S. into Friday

A storm will track north of the Great Lakes Friday with widespread rain showers across the Eastern U.S. along and ahead of its cold front. Further south along the front isolated severe thunderstorms are possible. Today: North wind 15 to 20 knots. Gusts up to 20 knots increasing to 25 knots in the late morning and early afternoon, then decreasing to 20 knots late in the afternoon. Chance of rain in the morning. Chance of rain showers early in the afternoon, then slight chance of rain showers and snow showers late in the afternoon. Patchy fog late in the morning. Waves 1 to 3 feet building to 3 to 5 feet in the late morning and afternoon.

Tonight: North wind 10 to 15 knots with gusts to around 20 knots easing to 5 knots after midnight. Partly cloudy. Waves 2 to 4 feet subsiding to 1 to 3 feet in the late evening and overnight.

Saturday: Northwest wind 5 to 10 knots. Gusts up to 20 knots late in the afternoon. Partly sunny. Waves 1 foot or less.

Saturday Night: Northwest wind 15 to 20 knots. Gusts up to 20 knots increasing to 25 knots in the late evening and overnight. Slight chance of snow showers in the evening, then chance of snow showers after midnight. Waves 1 to 2 feet building to 3 to 5 feet in the late evening and overnight. A small craft advisory may be needed.
