Tracking a Couple of Storm Systems Across the Country

Showers, along with a few strong to severe thunderstorms, are expected from the Great Lakes, New England and southward into the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys. Today: Northwest wind 10 to 20 knots veering north 15 to 25 knots by late morning. Gusts up to 32 knots. Cloudy. A chance of rain showers through early afternoon, then a slight chance of rain showers and snow showers late. Waves building to 4 to 7 feet occasionally to 9 feet, then subsiding to 3 to 6 feet occasionally to 8 feet.

Tonight: North wind 10 to 20 knots backing northwest less than 10 knots late. Mostly cloudy then becoming partly cloudy by midnight then becoming mostly cloudy. Waves subsiding to 1 to 2 feet.

Saturday: Northwest wind less than 10 knots with gusts up to 19 knots. Cloudy. A chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Waves 1 to 2 feet.

Saturday Night: Northwest wind 10 to 20 knots. Snow showers likely. Waves building to 2 to 3 feet.
