Storm Systems to Impact the Central and Eastern U.S. Through the Weekend

Two storm systems will track through the central and eastern U.S. today through this weekend with areas of gusty winds, rain and heavy snow. Severe thunderstorms and heavy to excessive rainfall is forecast today from the Lower Mississippi River Valley to the Tennessee Valley. Tonight: Northwest wind less than 10 knots through late evening becoming variable. Cloudy. A slight chance of snow showers late. Waves calm to 1 foot.

Saturday: Southeast wind less than 10 knots veering southwest by late morning, then veering north 10 to 15 knots late. Snow showers likely possibly mixed with freezing rain through mid morning, then snow showers by late morning. Waves building to 1 to 2 feet.

Saturday Night: Northwest wind 15 to 25 knots. Cloudy. Snow showers likely in the evening, then a chance of snow showers after midnight. Waves 1 to 2 feet.

Sunday: Northwest wind 15 to 25 knots backing west 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy. Waves 1 to 2 feet.
