Heavy lake-effect and lake-enhanced snow will persist downwind of the Great Lakes and produce some whiteout conditions that could cause difficult travel conditions. A coastal low will produce moderate to heavy snow over parts of southern and eastern New England into the afternoon. Today: Northwest wind up to 30 knots becoming 20 to 25 knots late. Heavy freezing spray through early afternoon. Cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Waves subsiding to 3 to 5 feet occasionally to 7 feet.

Tonight: Northwest wind up to 30 knots. Cloudy. Snow showers likely through late evening, then a chance of snow showers by midnight. Waves subsiding to 2 to 4 feet.

Tuesday: West wind 15 to 25 knots. Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Waves 2 to 4 feet.

Tuesday Night: Southwest wind 10 to 20 knots. Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of snow showers. Waves subsiding to 1 to 2 feet.
