Atmospheric River Continues to Impact the Northwest U.S.; Gusty to High Winds in the Northeast U.S.

A strong atmospheric river will continue moderate to heavy rainfall with possible flooding, gusty to high winds, and mountain snows for parts of the Northwest U.S. into Thursday. Additional impacts are likely into Friday with a cold front. Today: North wind 10 to 20 knots becoming northwest up to 30 knots by late morning. Gale force gusts up to 40 knots. Cloudy. Rain through mid morning, then a slight chance of rain showers by late morning. A chance of rain showers late. Waves building to 9 to 12 feet occasionally to 15 feet.

Tonight: Northwest wind up to 30 knots with gale force gusts up to 42 knots diminishing to 15 to 25 knots with gale force gusts up to 42 knots by midnight. Cloudy. A chance of rain showers through midnight, then a slight chance of rain showers possibly mixed with snow showers late. Waves subsiding to 3 to 6 feet occasionally to 8 feet.

Thursday: West wind 10 to 15 knots backing southwest in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain showers in the afternoon. Waves subsiding to 1 to 2 feet.

Thursday Night: South wind 15 to 25 knots. Rain showers. Waves building to 2 to 3 feet.
