Strong Cold Front Crossing Great Lakes and Northeast U.S.; Elevated Fire Weather in Southern California

A strong cold front will bring brisk to high winds across portions of the Great Lakes and the Northeast this weekend. Cold air arriving behind the front will trigger lake-effect snow downwind of the Great Lakes and accumulating snow over the higher terrain of the Northeast.
