Arctic Airmass for the Eastern Two-Thirds of the Nation; Strong Winds for Portions of the West

Bitterly cold temperatures continue across most of the eastern two-thirds of the nation this weekend. A weak clipper may bring some light snow across the northern tier of the country through Sunday. Strong winds are forecast for portions of the Sierra Nevada and southern California today. Periods of heavy rain with snowmelt and runoff may result in flooding across southeast Alaska this weekend.
