Synopsis for the SW N Atlantic including the Bahamas
940 PM EST Fri Feb 6 2026
.SYNOPSIS...Gale-force winds prevail N of 29N on both sides of a
cold front that extends from 31N56W to the Mona Passage. Very
rough seas are impacting a much wider-area, generally N of 25N and
E of 75W. The cold front will slow in speed, but move east to
31N59W to the Virgin Islands by late Sat, then reach the SE waters
by late Sun, as it is reinforced by another cold front. This
second front will induce another much larger area of gales,
starting early Sat as it moves of the SE U.S. coast, then
impacting waters N of 27N through the weekend. W winds to 40 kt
and seas to 30 ft can be expected behind this front, with very
rough seas prevailing over most waters N of 20N through Mon.
Looking ahead, a third cold front will quickly push across the
waters north of 28N Tue and Wed, but peak winds are anticipated to
only reach up to a strong breeze.
