At 319 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Mokena, moving east southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Joliet, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Forest, Harvey, Lockport, New Lenox, Homer Glen, Dolton, Park Forest, Homewood, Matteson, Mokena, Frankfort, South Holland, Country Club Hills, Midlothian, Hazel Crest, Richton Park, Riverdale, Markham, Crestwood, Flossmoor, Frankfort Square, and University Park. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding.
