...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN CUMBERLAND...
SOUTHWESTERN GOOCHLAND...NORTHWESTERN POWHATAN AND SOUTHERN FLUVANNA
COUNTIES THROUGH 900 PM EDT...

At 823 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over New Canton, or near Fork Union, moving southeast
at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Palmyra, Cartersville, Fork Union, Columbia, Fife, Trenholm,
Sunnyside, Lakeside Village, Duncan, Rock Castle, Oak Forest, Three
Square, Shores, Irwin, Central Plains, Bremo Bluff, Cohasset,
Whiteville, West View, and Othma.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
