378 FXUS64 KMEG 181717 AFDMEG Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Memphis TN 1217 PM CDT Wed Sep 18 2024 ...New AVIATION... .SYNOPSIS... Issued at 243 AM CDT Wed Sep 18 2024 Warm and dry conditions will persist through early next week. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s and around 90 degrees with morning lows in the upper 50s and low 60s. Precipitation chances do not increase until early next week. && .DISCUSSION... (Today through Tuesday) Issued at 243 AM CDT Wed Sep 18 2024 A 585 dam ridge continues to influence the warm and dry pattern over the Mid-South. Dry air was able to filter to the surface quicker than anticipated 24 hours ago, thus daily highs have been upped slightly to account for enhanced daytime heating. Highs will continue to creep near 90 degrees with a few areas exceeding the 90 degree mark (slightly above climatology). Patchy fog will continue to be the main headline in this quiet pattern. Clear skies, light winds, and wet surfaces from Francine are supportive of development. Thankfully, sunny skies will slowly dry out the saturated surface and reduce fog chances through the forecast. As the ridge breaks down and breaks free of the blocking pattern, a low pressure system and associated cold front take aim at the Mid-South early next week. Until the upper level pattern is disturbed, expect a persistence forecast in the meantime. DNM && .AVIATION...
