(Sunday night through next Saturday) Issued at 135 PM CDT Sat Jun 22 2024 A building 500mb ridge will be the main feature driving weather conditions throughout next week. The ridge should build in over Texas with heights topping out at 592 dam, while 850mb temperatures look to be in the 18-22 deg C range, pushing to 24 deg C by midweek. As a result, afternoon temperatures are expected to be in the upper 90s to around 100 to start the week, then reach the 100-105 degree range from Wednesday onward. Southerly surface flow should also keep humidity levels up, with dewpoints of 65-70 expected. Overnight lows will likely be in the upper 70s due to the muggy conditions. One potential limiting factor, given the steady low-level moisture, could be lingering cloud cover from nightly stratus decks that may occur from the Concho Valley southward. These areas could end up being several degrees cooler than areas north of the Concho Valley.
