(This evening through Friday) Issued at 131 PM CDT Thu Jun 13 2024 Hot and dry conditions will prevail across West Central Texas through the next 24 hours. An upper level ridge stretching from West Texas to Baja California will continue to dominate the weather across the forecast area. Highs will be a few degrees above seasonal normals, in the mid to upper 90s. Overnight lows will be in the 70s. No rain is forecast through Friday. && .LONG TERM... (Friday night through next Thursday) Issued at 144 PM CDT Thu Jun 13 2024 An upper level ridge will develop over the area by Friday. A weak shortwave will move through the southern plains Saturday, but is not expected to result in any discernible change in our weather here. A large trough will develop over the western half of the U. S. by Monday, with ridging over the southeastern states, with the western periphery of this ridge holding over our area, keeping our forecast mainly dry and hot. Highs will average in the mid 90s to around 100 degrees, with lows mainly in the 70s.
