411 FXUS62 KTBW 210022 AFDTBW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 822 PM EDT Thu Jun 20 2024 ...New UPDATE... .UPDATE...
-- Changed Discussion --
Issued at 810 PM EDT Thu Jun 20 2024 A fairly quiet afternoon and early evening across the CWA with the few showers that did develop now dissipating offshore. Breezy winds should decrease over the next few hours as tight gradient continues to relax. Lows by the morning hours should be 70s and by the afternoon on Friday highs climb up into the mid 90s. The sea breeze should support some isolated showers and maybe a storm or two over the interior and then push back towards the coast in the evening. Pockets of drier air could limit storm activity, but dewpoints in the 70s will make temperatures feel uncomfortable. Triple digit heat indices are possible, so residents and visitors should keep this in mind if making outdoor plans. Take plenty of breaks and stay hydrated. Otherwise, no changes were made to the forecast as it remains on track.
