...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 945 AM MDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of west central New Mexico, including the
  following county, northeastern Cibola.

* WHEN...Until 945 AM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. River
  or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 644 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain ended in
    the Grants area.  However, almost 4 inches of rain fell there
    Friday night. It will take a few hours for arroyo and small
    stream flooding to diminish.
  - The Rio San Jose has risen to over 4 feet at the Acoma Pueblo
    gauge, which is very high.  Any low water crossings through
    the Rio San Jose will be impassible until the water level
    recedes.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Grants, Laguna Pueblo, Milan, McCartys, Skyline-Ganipa, New
    Laguna, Mesita, Acomita Lake, North Acomita Village and
    Acomita.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
