Cooler temperatures are forecast today in the wake of a cold front. Low clouds and areas of light rain and drizzle will be possible over portions of eastern New Mexico through the early afternoon, and a few stray showers or thunderstorms may try to develop over the northern mountains by mid to late afternoon. Otherwise, dry conditions are forecast today in most of the western half of New Mexico today. Temperatures will warm up on Monday with low chances for a few thunderstorms over the northern and southwestern mountains in the afternoon. Mostly dry conditions are then expected for much of the rest of the week with temperatures gradually warming just above normal for late September.
