Daily rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected on the eastern plains and as far west as the Sangre de Cristo Mountains through Saturday. An exception will be today and to a lesser extent Wednesday, when isolated, gusty and dry virga showers and a few thunderstorms are expected over more of the northern mountains. A strong easterly gap wind is forecast to develop in the central valley from Santa Fe southward tonight into early Wednesday morning with gusts potentially over 40 mph in Albuquerque and potentially over 30 mph in Santa Fe. Warm, dry and gustier weather are expected areawide early next week.
